The StrettonDale Local Joint Committee (LJC) has an interesting meeting planned for Thursday 1 December 2016 at 7pm, in the Mayfair Community Centre, with flooding and land management at the top of the agenda.

Representatives from the National Trust, Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Shropshire Council’s flooding team, and the National Flood Forum will be on hand to give an overview of their work in relation to flooding and land management in the Stretton and wider south Shropshire area.

There will also be an update from the local police Safer Neighborhood Team, and a brief overview of the new Shropshire Choices adult services website.

Councillor Tim Barker, chairman of the LJC, said:

“Flooding and land management affects many of us in this area, from the hills to the lowlands. Water, and how the land is managed, is extremely important for biodiversity and for people living their daily lives. Do come along and hear from these experts and participate in the discussion.”

There will also be an opportunity to hear news and events from the parishes that form the LJC. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and to take part in the discussions.
