Arts and festivals network event in Shrewsbury on 14 December

Related topics: Leisure, culture and heritage

Artists, community and voluntary art organisations, and anyone interested in the arts, are invited to attend an Arts Network Event on Wednesday 14 December 2016 at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery from 6pm.

The event will feature an artist talk; a tour of “Heavenly Lights”, an exhibition exploring stained glass and the untold story of glass artist Margaret Agens Rope; and an opportunity to see the museum at night.

The artist talk is being given by Nathalie Hildegarde Liege, a stained glass artist who has exhibited nationally and internationally. Nathalie has been successful in securing funding from Arts Council England to make a stained glass window for the museum. The talk will explore the history, themes and processes of stained glass, and the links between Nathalie’s contemporary piece and the traditional work of Margaret Rope.

Throughout the evening artists will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and information.

Alexa Pugh, Shropshire Council’s arts development officer, said:-

“Come along to mingle and chat with other artists and people interested in the arts in your area.”

Entrance is £3 per person, to include refreshments and access to the exhibition and parts of the museum.

To book a place at this event please contact Megan Claydon, museum and arts apprentice, megan.claydon@shropshire.gov.uk or tel 01743 258885.
