This Sunday (29 May 2016) sees the third Shrewsbury Cycle Grand Prix take place in Shrewsbury town centre. The event brings amateur and professional racers to the town with several categories of races, including the popular family participation on the circuit prior to the racing.

The circuit will be open for families to try out from 11am, and then racing starts at midday. The last race is at 5pm.

The circuit, which will be enclosed with barriers, will be closed to traffic and there will be designated crossing points for pedestrians. The circuit is: High Street, Shoplatch, St Johns Hill, Cross Hill, Swan Hill, College Hill, Princess Street and Milk Street, and these roads will be closed to traffic from 8am until the event has been cleared of obstructions at about 8pm.

Although these streets are closed to traffic, the shops and businesses are open as usual with car parking available in the town centre, and we would encourage people to Shrewsbury to watch the racing and also to enjoy the many attractions of Shrewsbury.
