News from our partners Veolia

Householders in Shropshire are being reminded that their waste and recycling will be collected a day later than normal in the week after the end of May Bank Holiday.

As a result of the end of May Monday bank holiday, collections due to be made from Monday 30 May 2016 will be made a day later than normal. For example, collections that would normally be made on Monday will instead be made on Tuesday, continuing like this throughout the week, with collections that would normally be made on Friday will be made on Saturday.

Collections will return to normal on Monday 6 June 2016. Any residents unsure about which day they should put out their waste or recycling are asked to check their collection calendar or check out their bin day online using the online collection day finder at shropshire.gov.uk/binday.

Cat Slaytor, Communications Manager for Veolia said:

“We want to remind people that our collection crews will be coming one day later than normal following the end of May bank holiday weekend. If anyone is unsure which day to put their bins or boxes out, we ask them to check the collection calendar which will have been delivered to their house.”

Over the end of May bank holiday weekend Shropshire’s five household recycling centres will be open from 9am to 5pm every day. The centres are located at Faraday Drive, Bridgnorth; Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury; Craven Arms, Long Lane Industrial Estate; Mile Oak Industrial Estate, Oswestry and Waymills Industrial Estate, Whitchurch.
