The 2017 UCS undergraduate prospectus and a selection of course leaflets

University Centre Shrewsbury’s undergraduate prospectus for 2017 has been published, and current students have helped to bring what the institution and town offers into focus.

Undergraduates from across the institution are the stars of the new publication which provides details of courses, support, the town and how to apply.

Courses outlined include: Applied Psychology; Biochemistry; Business Management; English; Genetics and Evolution; Events and Festivals Management; History, and Sport Management.

The prospectus also includes information on sites, finance, and the ways University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS) courses and wider opportunities are designed to help ensure that graduates are fully equipped for the workplace.

The undergraduate students arriving in 2017 will be UCS’ third intake of undergraduates. The first undergraduate students were welcomed to the University Centre from autumn 2015, and postgraduate courses started in autumn 2014.

More than 20 undergraduate and postgraduate courses are being offered at UCS, with additional courses being developed.

Professor Anna Sutton, Provost of UCS said:

“We offer our students the opportunity to gain a personalised, rounded education in a beautiful, welcoming and distinctive town.

“The prospectus sets out how students can benefit from an outstanding overall experience, which gives them the academic and practical employment skills to succeed in their chosen path.

“Shrewsbury has so much to offer, and the prospectus tells people more about its many features. The town provides an ideal setting for students to reach their full potential and there are a range of opportunities for our students to contribute towards that community.

“Our prospectus is one of the ways we are sharing information on studying at University Centre Shrewsbury, which also include taking part in Higher Education events around the country, open days, our website and social media.”

Prof Sutton added that it was fitting that current students featured prominently in the prospectus.

“Our first undergraduates are pioneers and leading the way for future intakes.

“The prospectus shows them studying at Guildhall, including in the labs and in the library, and in different locations across town including at Rowley’s House.

“The students were fantastic and have played an important part in showing what it’s like to study and live in Shrewsbury.”
