Illustrated talk on Severn Valley Railway at country park on 10 March 2016

Shropshire Council rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are happy to welcome Severn Valley Railway volunteer, David Skitt, to tell us all about the Severn Valley Railway, from its birth in 1862, its closure in 1962 in the Dr Beeching era, and its subsequent preservation and future plans.

The talk will be held in the visitor centre on Thursday 10 March 2016 at 7.30pm

The talk will also include an illustrated journey along the line from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth highlighting interesting features along the way. In addition, David will tell us about the signalling and token system which allows the railway to operate safely.

Tickets are £4 adults, £2 children. Tickets include a hot drink and biscuits.
