Good Companions Lunch Club in Ludlow continues this year

Shropshire Council is inviting people who live with dementia and their carers along to its Good Companions Lunch Club on Tuesday 9 February 2016 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm at Helena Lane in Ludlow.

The club, which takes place every second Tuesday of the month, offers people a chance to take part in a number of activities, making friends with others in their community and enjoying a lunch together.

For £3.50, those attending will get a two course lunch provided by Hands Together Ludlow. After lunch a range of activities will be available and later in the year some Song for You singing sessions are planned. Activities cost £1.50. Refreshments will also be available.

Future dates for the Good Companions Lunch Clubs 2016 are as follows:

These new dates follow a series of very successful Good Companions Lunch Clubs which took place throughout 2015; where many people living with Dementia enjoyed socialising over a and took part in activities.

They are being organised by Shropshire Council in partnership with Hands Together Ludlow and Helena Lane Day care team.

“I would like to thank Hands Together Ludlow for their hard work in making this possible. Following a very successful and enjoyable first year, I am very pleased to see this lunch club continuing for another year.”

Lee Chapman, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for adults, said:

“The lunch club has been running for nearly a year now and has seen to be a great success over 2015. It welcomes an opportunity for local people who live with or have experience with dementia; to get together and form a community. It is a friendly, safe environment that allows people to catch up with friends and make new ones, whilst enjoying great food and drinks.”
