News from our partners West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police

West Mercia PoliceĀ and Warwickshire Police are warning people of the dangers of taking any illegal drugs, and the risks associated with not knowing the content of what they are taking.

There are believed to be MDMA tablets in circulation which are larger and have a higher level of purity than normal. The tablets are yellow and have what appears to be the TESLA logo.

DCI Ally Wright said:

“It is not only illegal to buy and sell drugs but can also be very dangerous, and potentially fatal. We are urging the public not to be tempted to take any illegal drugs – you don’t know what they are made of, where they have come from or what effects they may have on you.

“However, it is our duty to alert people to the fact that there appears to be a particular batch of MDMA tablets in circulation which are larger than normal and have a significantly higher purity of MDMA, this means that the health risk associated with taking these tablets could be even higher.”

We would encourage people who have information about the supply of illegal substances to contact us by calling 101, or they can do this anonymously by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
