Additional Park & Ride buses to run in Shrewsbury tonight

Related topics: Community

Shrewsbury’s Park & Ride service is to be extended tonight (Wednesday 16 December 2015), with an ‘extra’ bus set to leave each of the three Park & Ride sites at 30-minute intervals from 6.50pm until 8.50pm. The last bus will leave the town centre at 9pm.

However, people are reminded that these services may run later than advertised, as roads will be closed for Carols in the Square.

Normal Park & Ride charges will apply.

Shropshire Council and Arriva have agreed this one-off extension of the service following this week’s flooding in the town. It’s hoped that people unable to use the town centre car parks this week will take advantage of the extended service and visit the town for late night shopping and Carols in the Square.

The Park & Ride sites are at Harlescott, Meole Brace and Oxon.

Parking

Free parking is available in Shrewsbury from 4pm every Wednesday between now and Christmas, in the following Shropshire Council-owned long-stay car parks:

  • Frankwell Main

Meanwhile, Raven Meadows multi-storey will be open until 9.30pm on Wednesdays until Christmas (normal charges apply).
