News from our partners Shifnal Flood Partnership Group

The Shifnal Flood Partnership Group are holding a Flood Awareness Day on Saturday 10 October 2015 at 10am-3pm in the Village Hall, to exhibit what they have accomplished and hope to achieve in your area to help reduce flood risk.

Are you concerned about the flood risk in your area? Would you like to know how to protect your home? Do you want to have your say in protecting your community from flooding?

The Flood Awareness Day will include stands from organisations working with the Shifnal Flood Partnership Group. The National Flood Forum, Shropshire Council, Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water will be on hand to give you the opportunity to ask different organisations any flooding questions you may have, such as:

  • What are my rights and responsibilities?
  • Having flooded before, can I still get insurance?
  • What can my community and I do to help protect our homes and possessions?
  • How can I stay safe near water?
  • What impact do the housing developments in Shifnal have on flooding?

A range of information will be available to answer your questions, as well as expertise from these organisations on the day.

We welcome all those interested in our work in the Shifnal area, and look forward to seeing you on 10 October.
