The next meeting of the Albrighton area Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be held on Wednesday 11 November 2015 at The Red House, Albrighton, starting at 7pm.

As usual the meeting will start with an update from both Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service and the local policing team about activity locally.

Then there will be an update from Chris Edwards, Shropshire Council’s area commissioner – south, on the options for the future of the library service in Albrighton.

Public consultation is currently underway on exploring new local management arrangements for the library and customer service point. This follows the parish council’s agreement to investigate further the potential for their offices to move into the library premises, and consider options for managing and developing the library into a community hub for the area.

Councillor Malcolm Pate, chair of the LJC, said:-

“This is your opportunity to speak to your councillors direct about the issues that concern you. We know there are concerns locally about the future of the library service, so why not come along and take part and have your say. This is an ideal opportunity for you to direct your concerns to the people who will be considering the future management of these services.”

The next meeting of the LJC after 11 November 2015, will be held on Wednesday 2 March 2016 at The Red House, Albrighton, 7pm-9pm – so put the date in your diary and come along and have your say.
