Energize, the sport and physical activity partnership for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, host their latest conference entitled “Women Make Sport” on Friday 9 October 2015.

It will be held at the Whitehouse Hotel in Telford between 9am and 1pm, and all those that are passionate about increasing the number of active women in sport are encouraged to attend.

Tickets are £22 per person and this includes seminars, refreshments and lunch. Speakers at the event will include: Sport England, England Netball and the Energize Sporting Champion, Mel Clarke.

The conference is aimed at a range of people and groups. Sports clubs, leisure centres, gyms, coaches and community clubs are all encouraged to make the trip to the Whitehouse Hotel. The conference will provide helpful tips on how to imaginatively market and deliver sport and physical activity to women.

Karen Calder, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health, said:

“Some women miss out every week on all the great benefits being active has to offer. The Women Make Sport conference allows like-minded people in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin to come together and inspire more women to become active. Hopefully it allows women to push past any barriers they believe to be in the way and adopt a more active lifestyle.”
