Helena Lane Community Centre in Ludlow will be the venue for an exotic animal show when it hosts its ‘Community Fun Day’ on Friday 4 September 2015.

From 11am till 3pm various exciting activities will take place including: family fun outdoor games, glitter tattoos, face painting and a resident ‘Pop Up Poet’ who will be on hand to create poetry to order. A raffle and tombola will also be taking place throughout the day alongside the two exotic animal shows.

Simon Airey the Animal Man will be hosting the animal shows from 11am to midday and 1pm to 2pm. He’s been performing with exotic animals for a number of years and his passion for reptiles will keep the audience endlessly entertained.

Tickets are on sale for the animal shows for only £2 and can be purchased from Helena Lane Community Centre, 20 Hamlet Road, Ludlow, between 8:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday. It is suggested people get them as soon as possible as they are limited availability.

Helena Lane already runs many activities and events, such as ‘Coffee and Cake afternoons’ and an ‘Activate Health’ exercise session to prevent falls. Both of which have seen a lot of success. Helena Lane also provides dedicated day care for the elderly and adults with learning disabilities from Monday to Friday.

Councillor Lee Chapman, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for adult services, said:

“Helena Lane Community Centre already offer great services for the elderly and those with learning disabilities and the Community Fun Day is another really good reason to visit. We hope that everyone enjoys the animals and that as many people as possible turn out for this fantastic event.”

Cream tea will be available to those who attend and refreshments will be available from the café which is being run by The Cheffets, a learning disability group based at the community centre.
