Related topics: Community

This Sunday ( 31 May 2015) sees both amateur and professional racers come to Shrewsbury for the second Shrewsbury Cycle Grand Prix.

Starting at 1pm, the circuit will be open for families to try out before the racing starts at 3pm. The last race is at 6pm.

The circuit, which will be enclosed with barriers, will be closed to traffic and there will be designated crossing points for pedestrians. The route the circuit will follow is: High St, Shoplatch, St Johns Hill, Cross Hill, Swan Hill, College Hill, Princess St and Milk St. All of these roads will be closed to traffic from 8am until the event has been cleared of obstructions, at approximately 9pm.

Although these streets are closed to traffic, the shops and businesses are open as usual with car parking available in the town centre. We would strongly encourage people to Shrewsbury to watch the racing, and also to enjoy the many attractions Shrewsbury has to offer.
