The great Shropshire Hills and Ludlow swapshop is an afternoon event at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm for tourism businesses, information providers, suppliers and visitor attractions, on Wednesday 25 March 2015 from 2pm until 4.30pm.  It will be a pre-season opportunity to network, swap print and promote tourism in the Shropshire Hills.

The event is a joint initiative supported by Shropshire Council and Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership’s Sustainable Business Scheme.

Nigel McDonald, sustainable business officer for the Shropshire Hills AONB Partnership, said:

“Local tourism thrives on meeting people and making contacts.  This is a great opportunity for tourism businesses, suppliers and attractions to get together and exchange promotional material and contacts.  It’s a lovely venue for an event like this.  We feel especially lucky to have a pre-season visit.”

Suzy Gibson, the farm manager, said:

“We’d like to thank Councillor Tina Woodward for allowing the farm to be open for this private viewing.

“The farm opens to the public on Monday 30 March 2015. This year we will be demonstrating hand milking, encouraging children to bottle feed our cade lambs, and some beautiful chicks are just hatching.  There will be demonstrations by our blacksmiths and wheelwrights.  The farm is a really special place at Easter, with its promise of new life.”
