On Sunday 16 November 2014 Shropshire Council, the Shropshire FA and local voluntary organisation Fairness Respect Equality Shropshire (FRESh) partnership, organised the tenth annual Kick It Out Cup tournament at Shrewsbury Sports Village.

The Kick It Out Cup has grown in popularity and reputation over the past 10 years with teams being entered from Shropshire Council, West Mercia Police, the Shropshire FA and Shrewsbury 6th Form College, amongst others.

After several hard-fought group games, the final was contested by Shrewsbury Juniors and Shrewsbury Sports Village.  Last year’s winners, Shrewsbury Juniors, won again, 2-0.

Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for equalities, said:

“Congratulations to Shrewsbury Juniors for winning the Kick It Out Cup for the second year running.  It is really important that discrimination is tackled on both football pitches and in the community, and Kick It Out in Shropshire has successfully managed this for 10 years, with great achievements.”
