Woodhouse Farm Bridge to close for essential repairs

Related topics: Community

Woodhouse Farm Bridge, which carries the Stoke-on-Tern to Ollerton road, is to be closed to traffic for five days, to enable repairs to be carried out to the damaged parapet.

Unfortunately, due to the narrow nature of the road over the bridge, it is necessary to close it to traffic, but only between the hours of 8am and 4pm, from Monday 10 November 2014 to Friday 14 November 2014, to enable the work to be carried out safely.

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the proposed work.

When the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted via Heathcote and Ollerton.

Claire Wild, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for bridge maintenance, said:

‘‘This is essential work which needs to be carried out.

‘’It is appreciated that the bridge closure will cause some inconvenience, and everyone involved will do all that they reasonably can to reopen it as soon as possible.”
