Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery will host Field Notes, a performance by leading composer Howard Skempton and renowned artist Matthew Harris on Friday 24 October at 7.30pm.

The evening will include performances by world-class musicians of Skempton’s new piece ‘Field Notes’, and short pieces by other leading composers. There will also be an opportunity to view Harris’ intricate and layered textile artwork up close, watch a ‘behind-the-scenes’ film of the project and meet the artists.

Tina Woodward, Shropshire Council’s deputy Cabinet member responsible for museums, said:

“I’m really pleased that Howard and Matthew are visiting Shrewsbury as part of their Field Notes tour. It’s brilliant that Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery is hosting another live arts event following on from the recent and successful performance of ‘Helen’s Story’ which was enjoyed by many people.”

To book tickets please contact Shrewsbury Visitor Information Centre on 01743 258888 or book online at www.artsalive.co.uk . Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Field Notes is a partnership project between Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, CRAFTSPACE and Arts Alive.
