Come along to a one-stop ‘shop’ and see how we can help you at one of our tenant events.

Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing are teaming up with a number of service providers to hold three friendly and informal events in the Bridgnorth and Oswestry areas to give tenants the opportunity to pop in and chat with specialists about the following issues:

  • Welfare reform and money worries
  • Moving home & mutual exchanges
  • Saving money on household bills
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Housing repairs and planned work (such as kitchens and bathrooms)
  • Funding for community projects
  • Savings and affordable credit.

Each event will run from 2pm – 6pm at the following locations:

  • Monday 13 October 2014– The Centre, Oak Street, Oswestry, SY11 1LW
  • Wednesday 15 October 2014 – St James’ Hall, Lodge Lane, Bridgnorth, WV15 5DD
  • Thursday 23 October 2014 – Victoria Hall, High Street, Broseley, TF12 5EX.

Also confirmed to attend are Severn Trent Water, Love Food Hate Waste, just Credit Union and FAIRshare credit union, to offer money saving advice and affordable credit to those interested, plus there will be many more organisations.

Sue Adams, Managing Director of Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, said:

“We hope to see as many tenants at these events as possible.  We really look forward to meeting and supporting our tenants on the day.”

At these events tenants will be able to report repairs and, where possible, make appointments, as well as receive advice regarding kitchen or bathroom replacements, exchanging their home, general housing advice and information on Community Chest funding.  There will also be the chance to report any incidents of anti-social behaviour direct to Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing.

Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing have been responsible for the management of all Shropshire Council-owned homes since April 2013, and are committed to involving tenants in housing service improvement plans as well as community support services for vulnerable people.
