Lyneal Park Bridge closure from 4 August for up to two weeks

Lyneal Park Bridge will be closed from Monday 4 August 2014 for up to two weeks to enable essential repairs to be carried out.

The bridge carries the unclassified road between Lyneal and Colemere.

The work involves general maintenance, including the rebuilding of the accident-damaged parapet wall and the clearance of vegetation from the structure.

The bridge must be closed to traffic while the work is being carried out as it is too narrow for the work to be carried out safely with the bridge open to traffic.

When the road is closed, traffic will be diverted via Pikes Moss.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available at the bridge throughout the work.

Claire Wild, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for highways and transport, said:

“It is appreciated that closing the bridge for these essential repairs will cause some inconvenience and we will do all that we reasonably can to reopen the road as soon as possible.”
