Whitchurch Library to reopen on Friday 2 May

Whitchurch Library will reopen on Friday 2 May 2014 at 9.30am following the completion of improvement work at its Civic Centre home.

Access will be via St Mary’s Street, and all library services will be available.

The Library was temporarily housed in its garage from 24 March to 25 April, and has been closed since then while staff move books and other resources back into the main building.

Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for libraries, said:

“I’m really pleased that Whitchurch Library is to reopen on 2 May, following its temporary relocation while the Civic Centre building work was carried out. I would like to say a big thank you to our readers for their continued support during the work, and praise the staff for continuing to provide a service under difficult conditions.”

Opening hours for Whitchurch Library are:

  • Monday 1.30 – 5.00
  • Tuesday 9.30 – 7.30
  • Wednesday – closed
  • Thursday 9.30 – 6.00
  • Friday 9.30 – 5.00
  • Saturday 9.00 – 5.00
