Easter holiday fun at Severn Valley Country Park

Shropshire Council invites you to join the outdoor recreation service and discover Severn Valley Country Park this Easter.  The service is offering a number of events to keep children occupied over the holidays.:

Saturday 12 April 2014 – Sunday 27 April 2014  11am – 4pm

Self-led Gruffalo trail:  Follow the clues to find characters from the Gruffalo story hidden around the park.  Work out the puzzle to win a small prize.  Trail Maps £1.50 each.

Friday 18 April  11am-12.30pm, and Friday 25 April  11am-12.30pm and 2pm-3.30pm

Pond Dipping Session – With our rangers, come and hunt for the many different creatures living in the ponds at the park.  All equipment is provided. Children £3 (adults free) Booking recommended – 01746 781192.

Saturday 19 April and Saturday 26 April  11am-12.30pm

Easter Craft Sessions – Enjoy making some Easte-themed crafts with our rangers.  Children £3 (adults free)   Booking recommended – 01746 781192.

Wednesday 23 April  10am-12pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm

Help George find the Dragon – Join Sir Gawains Knight Training Academy to learn the skills that you will need to track down the elusive dragons egg.  Why not come along dressed up as a dragon, a knight or a princess?  Prizes for the best costumes.

Friday 25 April   7.30pm-9.30pm

Creatures of the Night – Learn about nocturnal wildlife, listen to the echolocation calls of bats as they hunt and look for the incredible mating dance of newts breeding in the pools.

£5 per adult, £3 per child or £12 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children).  Booking and payment in advance essential – 01746 781192.

Meet at the Visitor Centre and Teashop for all events, open Wednesday to Sunday 11am to 5pm and every day during school holidays.
