Changes to waste and recycling collections over Easter

Related topics: Community / Partner organisations

Shropshire Council and its waste contractor Veolia are reminding people about changes to waste and recycling collections over Easter.

Collection crews will be working as normal on Good Friday (Friday 18 April 2014).

However, there are no collections taking place on Easter Monday (Monday 21 April 2014), and so this week all collections will be one day later than normal.

The collection schedule for the Easter period is as follows:

  • collections that would have fallen on Easter Monday 21 April will take place on Tuesday 22 April.
  • collections that would have fallen on Tuesday 22 April will take place on Wednesday 23 April.
  • collections that would have fallen on Wednesday 23 will take place on Thursday 24 April.
  • collections that would have fallen on Thursday 24 April will take place on Friday 25 April.
  • collections that would have fallen on Friday 25 April will take place on Saturday 26 April.

These revised dates are already highlighted on your collection calendars and can also be checked online at shropshire.gov.uk/binday

Shropshire’s five Household Recycling Centres are open as normal over the Easter period, from 9am to 5pm every day.
