Good news for Albrighton community groups

At the meeting of Albrighton area Local Joint Committee held on Wednesday 5 February 2014 at The Red House there was good news for local organisations who applied for grants. 

Ten awards for funding were agreed as follows: 

  • Donington & Albrighton Nature Reserve     £581
  • Albrighton & District Historical Society       £610
  • Cosford Squadron ATC                                   £2,000
  • Albrighton & District Footpaths Group       £600
  • Say Yes, Shifnal & Albrighton Christian Youth Project        £350
  • Albrighton Village Halls Trust                       £1,950
  • Albrighton Patient Participation Group       £371.50
  • Albrighton Arts & Heritage Forum               £600
  • Albrighton Fayre Committee                         £500
  • Albrighton Traders Association                    £250

There was also an update from Paul Tulley of Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group on the review of health services in Shropshire and how clinical services will be delivered in the future.  He assured the meeting that communities would be involved in the direct shaping of the future of the service, and said there would be further opportunities for consultation during the summer.

Sargeant Richard Bailey updated the meeting on the crime statistics for the local area and reminded everyone of the need to report crime by calling 101 or in emergencies 999.  He also reminded everyone to keep in touch and up-to-date with the local police team on their various twitter sites.
