Local people are being encouraged to go along to their next Ellesmere Local Joint Committee and learn about proposals to change the format of future meetings.

Community groups and projects which have received funding from the LJC over the past four years are also being invited to come to the meeting to show people how the funding has helped them.

The meeting, to be held at Cockshutt Millennium Hall on Wednesday 19 February 2014 at 7pm, will give residents a chance to discuss the issues which affect them and learn more about what is available the area in which they live.

Chairman of Ellesmere Local Joint Committee (LJC), Ann Hartley, said:

“We listen to our community and help drive change in the area. The funding we have distributed has been spent wisely and has made a real difference in the community. In addition we have supported issues that are raised by the community such as speeding in rural area and hedge cutting.”

Community Action Officer, Julie Ruler is available to assist any groups that would like to promote their group display at the meeting. Julie can be contacted on 01691 677301 or email julie.ruler@shropshire.gov.uk.
