Oswestry residents young and old are invited to come along to the Community Fun Day at Monkmoor Court, Oswestry on Friday 30 August 2013 at 10am until 3pm.

The free event is being organised by Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing to bring both the local community and other organisations together to help support Oswestry’s Food Bank.

The Community Fun Day will include a variety of activities for all ages, including name the teddy, clothes swap, bingo, tombola stall, jewellery stall, tuck shop, and lots more.

The event will also provide an opportunity for you to receive health, financial and transport advice, and more.

Oswestry Food Bank, Oswestry Tenants Working Group and Sure Start children’s services will be attending, and all proceeds will be going to the Oswestry Food Bank.

Other organisations such as the local fire service, Wiltshire Farm Foods, Shropshire Housing Alliance, The Qube, Oswestry and District Stroke Club, Refuge UK, and more, will also be on hand offering advice and information.

Sue Adams, Managing Director for Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing, said:

“This will be a lovely event for all ages, and a great way to get the community together and donate to a worthy cause.  It not only provides an opportunity to have some fun, but also receive advice on important issues from experts.  I encourage everyone and anyone to attend and have fun.“

Any food brought to the event to donate to the food bank is very welcome.
