News from our partners Safer Roads Partnership for West Mercia and Warwickshire

The Safer Roads Partnership in West Mercia is advising all motorists travelling along the M54 to take extra care as roadworks begin next week between junctions 6 and 7 in Telford, and to observe the temporary 50mph speed limit which will be enforced by average speed cameras.

Roadworks are due to start on the M54 between junctions 6 and 7 (Telford) week commencing Monday 5 August 2013 and will be in place for 30 weeks to carry out bridge repairs.  Narrow lanes will be in place, as well as a temporary 50mph speed limit which will be enforced by average speed cameras.

Anna Higgins, Communications Manager at the Safer Roads Partnership, said:

“A temporary speed limit of 50mph will be in place while the roadworks take place, to slow traffic down and keep roadworkers and motorists safe.  We are advising all motorists to exercise caution as they travel through them and comply with the speed limit, which will be clearly marked and enforced by average speed cameras.”
