Shropshire Council is encouraging residents from in and around Wem and Shawbury to come along and have their say at the next meeting of their Wem and Shawbury Local Joint Committee (LJC) on Thursday 4 July 2013.

At the meeting, which will take place at 7pm at Edinburgh House in Wem, there will be presentations on the local commissioning of services in the Wem area, ambulance service provision, the Meres and Mosses Landscape Project, and Shropshire Council’s Local View Mapping System.

Councillor Brian Williams, Chair of Wem and Shawbury LJC, said:

“These meetings offer a great opportunity for us to get together with our communities.  We hope that residents will attend and let us know about the things that matter to them.

“I especially urge residents to come along and hear about how the council will be working with the local community to explore a different way of designing and delivering services.

“This is the first meeting of this financial year, and we have a new budget of £30,817.  We really want to encourage community groups within our LJC area who need funding to apply.”
