Come along and speak to your councillors at Albrighton LJC on 3 July

The next meeting of the Albrighton area Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be held on Wednesday 3 July 2013 at The Red House in Albrighton at 7pm. 

Shropshire Council officers will be attending to update the meeting on proposals for highway improvements to Bowling Green Lane and Cross Road, as well as giving the public the opportunity to ask questions. 

Also attending will be either Bill Longmore, Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia, or his deputy Barrie Sheldon, who will be supported by the local policing team who will be on hand to discuss issues of local concern. 

Also on the agenda will be the consideration of the grant applications received for this meeting.     

Projects being considered for funding at this meeting are: 

  • Albrighton & District Civic Society – fencing at station
  • Albrighton & District Civic Society – community website
  • Albrighton Arts & Heritage Forum
  • Albrighton Trust – moat and gardens
  • Albrighton Sports Complex
  • Cosford Youth Club 

Councillor Malcolm Pate said:

“This is your opportunity to speak to council highways officers direct, and your local councillors, about the issues that concern you.  Why not come along and take part if you have issues that you want to raise?”  

Councillor Stuart West said:

“This is a really important community meeting and everyone’s invited to come along and join in with discussions, and we will try to answer as many questions as we can on the night.  To enable all the community to get involve,d the venue for this committee alternates around the area.  This meeting is being held at The Red House, Albrighton this time – so put the date in your diary and come along and have your say.”
