Reduced membership prices at Much Wenlock Leisure Centre

Shropshire Council is providing a New Year boost for users of Much Wenlock Leisure Centre by significantly reducing membership prices at the centre from  Tuesday 1 January 2013.

The price reduction is in response to comments made by customers, and to local competition.

And, together with this reduction in membership prices, the centre is also launching a new and improved exercise class programme in January.

Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for active and healthy lifestyles, said:

“When we opened the new centre in August 2010 we offered a ‘price for life’ deal for members and the cost was set slightly higher than other local leisure centres to reflect the fantastic quality and range of the facilities on offer.

“But, in response to comments made by local people, and in recognition of the fact that times are tough for people at the moment, we have decided to reduce our membership fees to bring them in line with what members pay at Bridgnorth Leisure Centre.

“I hope this reduction in membership fees, and the new exercise class programme, will encourage people to join and visit the centre in the new year.”

Membership of Much Wenlock Leisure Centre includes unlimited use, during public hours, of the fitness suite (following induction), swimming pool, and the fitness and exercise classes, plus personal training sessions.

The new ‘price for life’ prices are

  • Individual full membership:               £28.95 per month or £274.60 per annum
  • Joint full membership:                         £52.95 per month
  • monthly card with no contract:       £40 per month (for BeActive card holders)

There is no joining fee or initial administration charge.
