Central planning committee decisions – 14 December 2012

The following planning decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s central planning committee at its meeting on Friday 14 December 2012 in Shrewsbury.

Land West of Nesscliffe Hotel, Nesscliffe – 12/00821/OUT
Outline application for residential development to include means of access (amended description).

Decision: Approved, subject to S106 agreement to secure an affordable housing contribution – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.

1 Walton Road, Shrewsbury – 12/01460/FUL
Erection of a single storey front extension including insertion of two rooflights, two storey side extension, single storey rear extension following removal of existing conservatory and roof to sitting area including insertion of two rooflights.

Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations, subject to an additional condition requiring protection of the boundary hedge to ensure the existing amenity is retained.

Malehurst Industrial Estate, Minsterley – 12/01913/FUL
Application under Section 73A of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 for the use of land and buildings for Class B1, B2 and/or B8 uses and for haulage depot.

Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations and the Highways Officer be asked to look at improvements that could be made to the approach road/A488 junction to assist vehicle manoeuvrability.

Proposed Dwelling South of Hanley House, Hook-a-Gate – 12/02391/OUT
Outline application for the erection of a detached dwelling and garage (to include access).

Decision: Approved, subject to S106 agreement to secure an affordable housing contribution – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.

Dobbies Garden Centre, Hereford Road, Bayston Hill – 12/03181/FUL
Siting of hand car wash facility including canopy and portable office/store cabin.

Decision: Approved – in acccordance with the Officer’s recommendations.

Proposed Affordable Housing Site East of Merrington Road, Bomere Heath – 12/03406/FUL
Erection of 12 no. two storey affordable dwellings; formation of vehicular access.

Decision: Consideration deferred to the next meeting, with councillors minded to refuse the application, for the Area Planning manager to prepare an advisory report on reasons for refusal.

17 Park Meadow, Minsterley – 12/03683/VAR
Variation of Condition No. 1 attached to planning permission 11/02302/COU to allow permanent use of the garage as hairdressing salon.

Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations for a further temporary permission of 12 months being granted to enable the impact of the use, particularly the management of customer parking, on the amenities of neighbouring residents to be assessed.

Mullins Heating Systems, London Road, Shrewsbury – 12/03749/FUL
Re-development of existing A1 retail unit including new pitched roof structure; overcladding; 1.8m high boundary fence and entrance gate; extension to existing parking area.

Decision: Consideration deferred to the next meeting for clarification to be sought from the applicant on the end use of the proposoed development.

4 Cardington, Church Stretton – 12/04494/FUL
Renovation of dwelling including erection of two-storey extension to rear elevation following demolition of existing lean-to.

Decision: Approved – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.
