Ellesmere Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be holding their next meeting at Welshampton Parish Hall on Thursday 6 December 2012 at 7pm.

The LJC, which covers the areas of Welshampton and Lyneal, Ellesmere town, Cockshutt-Cum-Petton and Ellesmere Rural parish, invites local people to come along and have their say on any issues that would like to raise about the area.

Previewing the meeting Councillor Ann Hartley, LJC Chairman, said:

“This is the opportunity to learn how Shropshire Council is facing up to next year’s budget, and to hear from Mike Hyatt, the council’s corporate head of strategic planning, explain arrangements for strategic commissioning, and how ip&e, the council’s new company, will function.  The managing director of ip&e, Tom Roehricht, will also be attending the meeting.”

Ann Hartley said the meeting, the first following the election of Bill Longmore as the new Police and Crime Commissioner for the area, will also receive a report on local policing matters.

Cash support for a variety of local community organisations will be revealed, and future applicants are reminded that the closing date for the next round is 22 February 2013.
