Volunteers needed for litter pick in Highley

Related topics: Community

Shropshire Council is calling for volunteers to help with a community litter pick that will be held in Highley on Wednesday 7 November 2012.

The litter pick is an event that aims to tidy up the local area as well as bringing the local community together in the process. Those who want to get involved will need to be at Orchard Street Car Pak for 9.30am for a short briefing.  All equipment will be provided.

Martin Bennett, Shropshire Council’s deputy Cabinet member, said:

“From my own experience, I know how really satisfying it can be to ‘get stuck in’ to an effort to tidy up an area. You get a real sense of having achieved something: it gives you a real buzz.  I would like to invite as many as possible to come along and share this in an all-out effort to make Highley look its best.”
