The next meeting of the Shifnal and Sheriffhales Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be held on Tuesday 6 November 2012 at Shifnal Village Hall, starting at 7pm.

Ian Kilby, Shropshire Council’s development manager, will be on hand to talk about planning policy, and Alice Dilly, principal engineer, will be available to speak about local highway issues.

Also on the agenda will be the consideration of grant applications for the remaining budget for this financial year.

Stuart West, Chairman of the LJC, said:

“This is your opportunity to speak to your local councillors and council officers about the issues that concern you.  Why not come along and take part if you have issues that you want to raise.

“This is a really important community meeting and everyone’s invited to come along and join in with discussions, and we will try to answer as many questions as we can on the night.  To enable all the community to get involved, the venue for the LJC alternates around the area.  This meeting is being held at Shifnal Village Hall this time – so put the date in your diary and come along and have your say.”

Projects being considered for funding at this meeting are:

  • Shifnal Tennis Club – anti-slip repainting
  • British Red Cross – young carers
  • Shifnal Local History Group – Oral History Project
  • The Walled Garden Project – crafts & companionships
  • Friendship Centre, Shifnal – travel costs
  • Shifnal Bowling Club – replacement of bowling green mower
  • Sheriffhales Village Hall – supply and fit blinds and curtains to village hall.
