Central planning committee decisions – 18 October 2012

The following planning applications were considered and decided by Shropshire Council’s central planning committee at its meeting on 18 October 2012.

The Old Three Pigeons, Nesscliffe – 11/04158/FUL
Erection of 2 dwellings; formation of access.
Decision: Consideration DEFERRED to the next meeting for further discussions with the applicant and parish council on the proposal.

Land West of Nesscliffe Hotel, Nesscliffe – 12/00821/OUT
Outline application for residential development to include means of access (amended description).
Decision: AUTHORITY DELEGATED TO THE AREA PLANNING MANAGER TO DETERMINE THE APPLICATION – Members were minded to approve the application in accordance with the Officer’s revised recommendations, subject to the reserved matters (particularly the design and number of dwellings) being submitted to the Committee for determination.

Proposed Residential Development, Land West of The Gables, Nesscliffe – 12/01012/OUT
Outline application (all matters reserved) for residential development to include affordable housing.
Decision: Application WITHDRAWN by the applicant

The Bothy, Cound Hall, Cound – 12/01393/FUL
Erection of single storey dwelling.
Decision: APPROVED SUBJECT TO S106 AGREEMENT TO SECURE AN AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONTRIBUTION – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations, subject to an additional condition limiting construction deliveries to between 10.00am and 3.00pm, with no construction work on Sundays or after 12.00pm on Saturdays. To protect the amenities of the occupiers of nearby residential properties.

Myrtle Cottage, Pontesbury Hill, Pontesbury – 12/01709/OUT
Outline application for the erection of a detached dwelling and garage to include access.
Decision: REFUSED – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.

Land Adjacent Sunnyside Farm, Withington – 12/02678/FUL
Erection of an affordable dwelling.
Decision: Consideration DEFERRED to the next meeting for further discussions with the applicant and parish council on the location for the proposed affordable dwelling.

Proposed Affordable Housing Site East of Merrington Road, Bomere Heath – 12/03406/FUL
Erection of 12 two storey affordable dwellings; formation of vehicular access.
Decision: Consideration DEFERRED to the next meeting for further discussions, involving the parish council, with Severn Trent Water on the concerns about whether a satisfactory means of drainage for the site could be provided without increasing the risk of flooding and problems occurring with the foul and surface water drainage system serving the village.

Abella House, Longden Road, Shrewsbury – 12/03439/FUL
Change of use of warehouse unit with office accommodation to suigeneris (ambulance station) and use of land as car parking area.
Decision: APPROVED – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations.

Spar Stores, 1 Conway Drive, Shrewsbury – 12/03511/FUL
Installation of ATM with fascia sign.
Decision: APPROVED – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations, subject to an additional condition requiring the installation of CCTV around the ATM

23A and 23B Dogpole, Shrewsbury – 12/03679/COU
Change of use from first and second floor apartments (residential) to beauty treatment rooms (A1 Commercial).
Decision: APPROVED – in accordance with the Officer’s recommendations, subject to the permission being granted for the applicant only and Condition 3 being amended to read:

“The premises shall not be open to the public/customers, nor any services be available to the public/customers outside the following hours: 0900 to 1800 Monday to Wednesday; 0900 to 2000 Thursday and Friday; 0900 to 1800 Saturday: and all day Sunday and Bank Holidays, nor shall any member of the public/customers remain on the premises outside these hours.

Reason:  To protect the amenities of the occupiers of nearby residential properties”
