Weather warning in Shropshire

Related topics: Community

With heavy rain causing flooding in some areas of Shropshire, people are being urged to avoid calling the fire service unless they are in an emergency situation.

An amber weather warning was issued by the Met Office this morning (Monday 24 September 2012) and is valid until 4pm today.  There is more information on the Met Office website.

Sandbags are available from Shropshire Council’s highways depots for people in particularly affected areas.  For help or advice, call the council’s customer service team on 0345 678 9000.
