Shropshire Council has been busy doing patching works along High Street and Castle Street in Ludlow in preparation for resurfacing next month (Tuesday 18 September 2012).

This essential resurfacing work is expected to take two days to complete.

Unfortunately during this work the roads will need to be closed to all traffic, with the exception of emergency vehicles.  A signed diversion will be in place throughout this closure.

Further work to resurface King Street from its junction with Bull Ring to its junction with Broad Street will take place on Tuesday 2 October 2012 for one day under a road closure.

Councillor Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for highways, said:

“We’ve carefully coordinated this essential work however we do understand that this will cause disruption. We will endeavour to complete it as soon as we can.”

Rosanna Taylor-Smith, Shropshire Councillor for Ludlow North, said:

“I am really pleased that we will be resurfacing High Street and Castle Street in the heart of Ludlow after the September Food Festival and apologise to residents and businesses for the two days of disruption whilst the work is taking place.  We are also planning to resurface King Street on 2 October which will complete the essential resurfacing works in the centre of Ludlow before the winter weather sets in.”
