People in the Oswestry area will be able to discover more about the new company being set up by Shropshire Council to deliver some of its services in future at a forthcoming meeting.

Leader of Shropshire Council, Keith Barrow, will be at a public question and answer session, organised with Oswestry Rural Parish Council, at 7pm on Tuesday 4 September 2012 at Trefonen Village Hall to talk to residents about the ip&e group.

The company, which is owned by local people, will be able to trade for new business in a way which Shropshire Council cannot, meaning it can create ‘public’ profit which can be invested in the council to improve services and facilities.

The first services which will transfer to ip&e group are Shire Services (catering, cleaning and facilities management) and Shared Support Services (finance, personnel and IT), along with legal services and print services.

The name of the company, ip&e, which stands for ‘Inspiring Partnerships and Enterprise’ reflects the values that will underpin the work to be carried out by the new organisation.

Everyone is invited to attend the question and answer session at Trefonen Village Hall from 7pm on Tuesday 4 September 2012 to discuss the proposals.

Keith said:

“These are exciting times and I appreciate that people will want to know more about what’s happening.  I’m looking forward to the meeting and hope that plenty of people take the opportunity to come along too.”
