Shropshire Council is offering a couple of two-day catch up Bikeability level 1 or 2 training courses over the summer holidays, and places are still available.

The courses are being held on Monday 23 July and Tuesday 24 July 2012, and Monday 30 July and Tuesday 31 July 2012, both at The Priory School, Longden Road, Shrewsbury.

These two-day courses are for children aged nine plus, and are also suitable for children who didn’t reach Bikeability Level 2 at primary school and want to try again.

Delivered by qualified cycle instructors from the council’s cycle training team, the course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 3pm, costing just £15 for the two days.

Children need to bring a roadworthy bike, helmet and packed lunch.

Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for transport, said:

“With cycling more popular than ever, Shropshire Council are delighted to offer another opportunity during the summer holidays for children to learn safe off and on road cycling road skills essential for cycling on today’s roads.”
