South planning committee decisions

The following planning applications were considered and decided by Shropshire Council’s south planning committee at its meeting on Tuesday 19 June 2012.

11/05519/FUL
Residential Development land at former Bridgnorth College, Stourbridge Road, Bridgnorth

Substitution of Plots 1 – 47 additional 9 no. units and re-planning of associated parking for residential development approved under planning permission 10/02317/FUL.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation, subject to a Section 106 Agreement in respect of affordable housing.

The Bake House, Railway Inn, Aston Street, Shifnal

Conversion of restaurant to function room and meeting rooms: erection of link and smoking shelters.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

Oakridge Farm, Ashfield Road, Ditton Priors

Erection of one wind turbine with a hub height of 20.6 metres and a rotor diameter of 13.1m.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

The Dower House School, Quatt, Bridgnorth

Conversion of school to 7 residential units.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation, and subject to the additional conditions as detailed in the update sheet circulated at the meeting.

Hammer hill Farm, Romsley Lane, Romsley, Alveley

Installation of 4 no. heat exchanger units on external wall of workshop.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

12/01451/LBC
Carrot Tops, 28 High Street, Cleobury Mortimer

Works to include removal of two internal walls and chimney breast affecting a Grade II Listed Building.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.

12/01949/TPO
Caradoc House, 2 Westholme Park, Hazler Road, Church Stretton

To fell 1 No. Oak Tree protected by the South Shropshire District Council (Westholme, Hazler Road, Church Stretton) TPO 2000.
Decision: That planning permission be refused contrary to the Officer’s recommendation for the following reasons:
(i) The tree was in good health and was an asset to the area.
