Fly the flag for the Armed Forces

Shropshire Council will support Armed Forces Day by flying a special flag at its headquarters across the county this week.

The MOD is encouraging councils, businesses and homes across the country to show their support for the Armed Forces.  Shropshire Council is keen to join the campaign and will be flying the Armed Forces Day flag from Monday 25 June 2012 for a week.

Chairman of Shropshire Council, Malcolm Pate, said:

“It’s important to support the Armed Forces, who do a wonderful job in very difficult circumstances across the world, and I am pleased Shropshire Council is joining the campaign to fly the flag.”

The flag will fly at Shirehall in Shrewsbury, and all council headquarters at The Guildhall in Shrewsbury, Edinburgh House in Wem, Corve Street in Ludlow, Westgate in Bridgnorth and Castle View in Oswestry.

Armed Forces Day will take place on Saturday 30 June 2012.
