This year’s Ditton Priors Country Show and Fayre is set to be more fun-packed than ever, with a dog show, children’s entertainment and vintage and military vehicle display among the activities on offer.

The show will take place on Saturday 7 July 2012 at Shropshire Council’s Oak Farm in Station Road, Ditton Priors.

From noon to 5pm visitors will also be able to enjoy main arena displays and performers including the Alveley Village Band, trade stands, afternoon teas, a BBQ, real ale bar and live music.

Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health and well-being, said:

“The Ditton Priors Country Show and Fayre is a popular event in the south Shropshire calendar.

“It’s a great day out, with something for all the family, and Oak Farm provides a wonderful setting for the event.”

Oak Farm, which is owned by Shropshire Council, is home to a day service for adults with learning disabilities, providing training and work experience in horticulture and agriculture.  The team at Oak Farm looks after animals, and grows, produces and sells vegetables, plants, fruits and preserves.

The farm also has a composting scheme, a Forest School, and a local history centre managed by the Ditton Priors history group within its 11 hectares of land.

Entry to the show costs £2.  For further information about the country show go to www.dittonpriors.com, contact Oak Farm on 01746 712352 or email stuart.toulson@shropshire.gov.uk
