Shropshire Council is encouraging local people to come along to their next Cleobury Rural Local Joint Committee (LJC) to talk about the issues that matter to them.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 29 February 2012 at 7pm at Cleobury Mortimer Parish Hall, Lower Street, Cleobury Mortimer, DY14 8EA.

The committee is made up of three Shropshire councillors and one representative from each town and parish council, which are Burford, Boraston, Coreley, Cleobury Mortimer, Farlow and Oreton, Hopton Wafers, Neen Savage, Kinlet, Milson and Neen Sollars, Wheathill, Stottesdon and Sidbury.

Councillor Madge Shineton, Chair of the Cleobury Rural LJC, said:-

“At the meeting on 29 February Cleobury Rural LJC will be considering applications for funding.  We are delighted that a number of groups who have received LJC funding in the past will be joining us with displays and updates on what the funding was used for.”

Key local issues will include the Cleobury Mortimer future car parking consultation;  an update from Matrix Medical on the proposals for the new medical centre for Cleobury;  the proposal from Blue Square of a 55-bed nursing home and two detached houses on the old Cleobury Engineering site; the very exciting news that the Olympic Torch will be running through Cleobury Mortimer on 24 May; and an update from the community meeting on 22 February.

As usual, the local police will be on hand for the public to drop in between 6.30pm and 7pm, and will later give an update on the whole area.
