On Tuesday 6 March 2012 residents of Bishop’s Castle are being encouraged to drop into Enterprise House in the town between 11am and 12pm to meet local representatives of Shropshire Council, the police and South Shropshire Housing Association for a free advice session.

Representatives from Shropshire Council’s customer services team will be available to provide information about a host of services, including showing you how to apply for concessionary travel; make a blue badge application; give you information on your waste collection and recycling service, or reporting highways problems such as potholes, faulty streetlights or street cleansing issues.

The Bishop’s Castle local policing team will also be on hand to listen to any concerns about crime or anti-social behaviour, and representatives from South Shropshire Housing Association will be on hand to give advice on housing issues and for current tenants to drop in for advice about their property.

Mathew Mead from Shropshire Council’s community action team will also be available to speak to any community groups looking for funding for projects in the area.  The community action team helps administer the council’s Local Joint Committee grants, and can also support projects bidding for external funding from the Lottery.

Members of the public are encouraged to drop into Enterprise House at any time between 11am and 12pm on Tuesday 6 March 2012.  Information will also be available about how to book the ShropshireLink bus service and how to apply for school transport.

Further events are planned throughout the year and are designed to help people access information from local service providers more easily.
