Broadband on the StrettonDale LJC agenda

The StrettonDale Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be given an overview of the connecting Shropshire broadband project at its meeting on Wednesday 19 October at 7pm at Leebotwood Village Hall.

Representatives from Shropshire Council and BT will be on hand to present the project and answer questions.

StrettonDale LJC Chairman, Shropshire Councillor Tim Barker, said:

“This is an excellent opportunity for residents and businesses alike to hear about the plans for improved broadband coverage across the county over the coming years.  Please come along and help shape the work of this exciting project.”   

 

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the ‘Walking with Offa’ project, which is focussed on developing the walking product around Offa’s Dyke. 

 

At its meeting in June ,2011 the committee granted financial assistance to the following projects:

  • Church Stretton Arts Festival towards youth activity – £400
  • Little Stretton Village Hall towards external repairs – £487.50
  • Leebotwood Village Halls for new chairs – £1,170
  • Church Stretton Community Group towards the Fairtrade town campaign – £500
  • Leebotwood and Longnor Parish Council towards the Parish Plan review – £450
  • Church Stretton Tourism Group towards new celebration flags for the town – £100

    There are a further nine applications for consideration at this meeting.
