The next meeting of The Severn Loop Local Joint Committee (LJC) is on Monday 12 October 2011 at 7pm at The Guildhall, Shrewsbury.   The Severn Loop LJC covers the areas of The Quarry and inside the Severn Loop, Coton Hill, Castle Foregate and St Michael’s Street areas, Porthill, Kingsland and Belle Vue in Shrewsbury.

Shropshire Council and Shrewsbury Town Council councillors will be in attendance, and encourage people to attend to listen to current topics and raise issues of concern.

Chair of the meeting Councillor Anne Chebsey said:

“We are keen for residents to attend to listen to developments and raise issues, and see the LJC as a way of influencing things locally.  Since the last meeting when issues were raised about the use of pavements in the town, A-boards and parking enforcement in the evenings, action has been taken and there will be an update at this meeting from Shropshire Council’s public protection team.”

There will be updates from the police and Shropshire Fire and Rescue.

Funding applications will be considered from the Shrewsbury Town Centre Residents Association, who are seeking £1,900 towards having local information developed to place on a new online map of the town, and the Hive Music and Media Centre are seeking £5,000 to support the extension of five of their existing programmes.

There will be the opportunity to raise local issues and question councillors and officers.

If you wish to raise any issues or require any advice on funding please contact your community action officer Gwyn Bevan on 01743 252482 or email gwyn.bevan@shropshire.gov.uk
