Museum summer fun – free holiday workshops at Shrewsbury Museum

Young explorers and enthusiasts are in for a treat this summer (2011) as Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery hosts a series of free drop-in workshops for children between three and 10 throughout the school holidays. 

Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, operated by Shropshire Council, is based at Rowley’s House on Barker Street. 

Workshops include a variety of arts and crafts activities as well as the opportunity to handle objects from the museum collection. 

All sessions are held every Tuesday between 1pm and 4 pm from 26 July 2011 to 30 August 2011. 

Activities include:

 26 July – Rotten Romans

2 August – Flower Power

9 August – Easy Peasy Jewelry

16 August: – Bugs and Butterflies

23 August: – Mini Bird Scarers

30 August: – Mystical Creatures 

Kerstin Dopatka, Shropshire Council’s project development officer for learning and outreach, said:
