Families with children under five across north Shropshire are invited to a host of family fun activities this Easter (April 2011).

The free events are being organised by Shropshire Council’s Sure Start Children Centres and include walks and Easter egg hunts, where young children and their families can join us for a family walk in the fresh air and look for eggs. The events are:

Monday 18 April

  • Wem Children’s centre from 9.15am to 11am
  • Gobowen Children’s Centre from 9.15am to 11.30am
  • Weston Rhyn Children’s Centre from 1pm to 2.50pm

Wednesday 20 April

  • Morda Children’s Centre from 1pm to 3pm.

Thursday 21 April

  • Woodside Children’s Centre from 9.15am to 11.30am
  • Whittingdon Children’s Centre from 9.15am to 11.15am

Children can also play with a variety of toys and take part in craft activities and Rhymetime.  Healthy snacks will be offered and parents can access advice and information from support workers present.

Families and children will also have the opportunity to join their local children centre and become fully-fledged members.

These events are some of many activities the council’s Sure Start Children Centres organise across Shropshire to promote healthy lifestyles for families, and provides an opportunity for families and their children to socialise.

Older siblings are also welcome to attend these events.

For more information about the events and to find out more about what else is on offer through children’s centres in the local area call Sure Start Children’s Centres (North Team) on 01691 656513.
