Unfortunately, due to maintenance issues, the paddling pool is now closed. Shropshire Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Children will soon be able to have fun and keep cool when the paddling pool in The Quarry, Shrewsbury reopens ready for the busy summer season next month (Tuesday 31 May 2011).

The pool, which is part of Shropshire Council’s Quarry Swimming and Fitness Centre, is free and will be open from 10.30am to 5.30pm Sunday to Friday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturdays.

Councillor Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture and leisure, said:

“The paddling pool is a great, free facility in the beautiful surroundings of The Quarry park.  It’s just one of the many fun activities offered at the centre to keep children entertained throughout the summer season.”

Andrew Bannerman, Shropshire Councillor for Quarry and Coton Hill, said:

“The paddling pool is a great resource for exhausted mums and dads in the summer.  It’s amazing how long children will happily play there and there is the added advantage of fresh air and a safe and well-managed environment.”

The paddling pool will remain open until 25 September 2011 when the weather gets a little cooler.
