My Sweet Patootie swing onto the Arts Alive scene this month, delivering their trademark mixture of folk, blues, country and jazz music to Shropshire and Herefordshire audiences.

Tall tales and vintage swing collide in My Sweet Patootie’s non-stop acoustic show from Canada. This dynamic trio features Canadian Folk Music Award winners singer-violinist Sandra Swannell and singer-fingerstyle guitar virtuoso Terry Young, along with Devonshire’s ricky-tick percussionist John Jackson.

The band’s name, 1920’s North American slang meaning “hot dame” or “sassy sweetheart”, captures their original songwriting’s vintage flavour and their cheeky approach to creating memorable, uplifting performances

Mike Hill, Mariposa Folk Festival artistic director, said:

My Sweet Patootie are an outstanding band. Their combination of technical skill, songwriting and knowing how to interact with an audience make them ideal for any kind of venue.”
